Purpose

The purpose of this blog is to share ideas from many sources in order that I might learn methods by which I can overcome problems in my life.

What you find here is what I have found in my search to overcome the problems I observe in my own life and sometimes problems that are indirectly mine because they operate in the lives of people connected to me.

So what is here is actually my advice to myself. I am “thinking things through” in what is written, and making them visible to others so that I can gain from their feedback. (Please review the READ ME page to understand how this connects with you.)

It’s my desire to overcome my own problems, as the Bible describes in Revelation 21:19-22 NIV and elsewhere:  19 Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21 He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’” The guidance of Jesus Christ, flowing out of the ongoing relationship we have with our Savior and Lord, I believe, will help us to overcome all of life’s troubles.

I’m inspired by the hymn below – we have much to overcome in this life and in this world.

We shall overcome, we shall overcome,
We shall overcome someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We shall overcome someday.
The Lord will see us through, The Lord will see us through,
The Lord will see us through someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We shall overcome someday.
We’re on to victory, We’re on to victory,
We’re on to victory someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We’re on to victory someday.
We’ll walk hand in hand, we’ll walk hand in hand,
We’ll walk hand in hand someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We’ll walk hand in hand someday.
We are not afraid, we are not afraid,
We are not afraid today;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We are not afraid today.
The truth shall make us free, the truth shall make us free,
The truth shall make us free someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
The truth shall make us free someday.
We shall live in peace, we shall live in peace,
We shall live in peace someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We shall live in peace someday.
